School Residential

With its areas of outstanding natural beauty and a wealth of local history, South Wales offers the perfect destination for an academic or adventure-based trip.

The South Wales landscape is full of hidden secrets waiting to be discovered by your students, as they piece together the creation of the environment surrounding them. Follow the river Tawe, from its source below Moel Feity, as it makes its way from the old red sandstone hills, through deep limestone gorges, to the dramatic Gower coastline, only an hours drive away.

Aside from its natural beauty, the Brecon Beacons National Park offers a step into its industrial past. South Wales played a leading role in the Industrial Revolution, which shaped the landscape with limestone quarries, coal and silica mines. A number of impressive heritage sites, including Glyn-Neath Gunpowder Works and Blaenavon Ironworks, provide a window into this important era.

Activities

Our outdoor education programme for schools can range from a half-day session to a week-long residential trip. We regularly work with school groups from Year 4 upwards, to provide Curriculum Linked Courses and Activity Packages. Our clients range from large private schools and colleges, down to small village state schools.

The main focus of our school outdoor education programme is adventure through learning. Whether it be academic or personal development, the outdoors provides the perfect learning environment.

Through our Activities, we aim to help students achieve a range of learning outcomes across a number of subject areas, such as geography, science, citizenship and P.E. For most, this is a new and exciting learning environment which offers a variety of character-building challenges.
